Rev. Sara Goold
Sara Goold is an ordained United Methodist minister and a Gestalt Pastoral Psychotherapist practicing in New York City and Connecticut. From a young age, Sara found holiness, comfort and beauty in many religious traditions and in the many expressions of Christianity. Her Christian faith has been significantly nourished by Judaism and by the meditation and awareness practices of Buddhism. She believes that God has made us each utterly relational by nature and her understanding of the healing process is both interpersonal (between individuals) and intrapersonal (among parts of the individual).
Sara has been a faculty member of the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training in Manhattan and regularly leads retreats, supervision groups and workshops. She also works with local churches and pastors; she preaches, teaches, and leads programs in spiritual nurture. Sara regularly teaches in the GPC training program, focusing on advanced levels of theory and practice. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A.) and the Union Theological Seminary in New York City (M.Div.).
Sara is the contact person for the New York / Connecticut / New Jersey Community of Practice.
