Alexandra MacCracken was commissioned as a Gestalt Pastoral Care Minister and Trainer in 2017. She first encountered Gestalt Pastoral Care in 2007, and was so impressed at the efficacy of this healing ministry that she felt compelled to enter the GPC training program in 2010, which was in parallel with her ongoing career as a professional violinist.
Alexandra also earned a certificate from the Gestalt International Study Center, and holds an Accredited Certified Coach (ACC) designation from the International Coaching Federation. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education and a Master of Music in Performance from the University of Illinois
She is active as a lay leader in the Healing Ministry of her church (The Church of the Holy Comforter, in Vienna, Virginia), and she leads Opening to Grace retreats in the Northern Virginia area and elsewhere by invitation, including the Seattle and Chicago areas. Alexandra also maintains a private practice, and is in the process of launching a GPC Community of Practice in the Washington, DC area.
Her spiritual authority is Jesus, and she operates from a non-dualistic trust in the Love of God. Gestalt principles grounded in contemplative practice form the contextual basis of her approach.
