Susan Vande Kappelle
Susan is an ordained Presbyterian minister who serves as the co-ordinator of the Western Pennsylvania Gestalt Pastoral Care Community of Practice. Building the communities of GPCA and strengthening the organization is God’s calling for her at this time.
Pastoral counseling skills were forged in continuing education with John Savage and Gene Rooney. Susan achieved her Doctor of Ministry studying Spirituality with Dr. Andrew Purves and Martha Robbins at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and Dr. Susan Muto and Fr. Adrian van Kaam at the Epiphany Association of Pittsburgh. Presently Susan is partnering with Rev. Dr. Joan Prentice to train leaders in GPC within communities in Pittsburgh.
Susan’s training and internship with Tilda Norberg and Sara Goold spanned the years of 2007 through 2016 when she was granted the position of Gestalt Pastoral Care Minister. Today, she supports many Opening to Grace Retreats throughout Pennsylvania and in Northern Virginia
