Faith & Science Bridge the Gap

Recent scientific research, underwritten by Brigham Young University Bridges Consortium and funded by the Templeton Foundation from 2018-2020, supports the efficacy of Gestalt Pastoral Care. This was the largest research study ever undertaken to examine various spiritually integrated strategies and our results for clinical effectiveness have been called profound by the Principal Investigator, Michael Crabtree, PhD, Professor in the Department of Psychology at Washington Jefferson College, PA.

Both individual sessions and Opening to Grace retreats had unequivocally positive results that showed significant reductions in depressive, anxiety, and trauma symptoms as well as spiritual issues using empirically-validated scales.

A Christian perspective bids us to respect
not only other people’s healing processes,
but also to love them as human beings.
